Fresh pasta and homemade sauces

Pastalicious was born when I picked up an old 'La Parmiagiana' pasta extrusion machine, when a local deli closed its doors in 2004. I began producing pasta to sell at the weekly 'City Food and Garden Market' in St. George's market in Belfast. It was an instant success, as no-one was producing truly fresh pasta anywhere in N. Ireland, I accompanied the pasta with a range of great sauces, cheeses and a few other basics for pasta cooking. I also decided to cook some of the pasta there in the market so that customers have a bowl of pasta for lunch. This complemented the other range of food stalls at the market perfectly, there are stalls offering food from all parts of the world, using as much local produce as possible.

The Pasta

Our pasta is made on the day of the market so you can keep it in the fridge for 5 days.
We use a coarse ground semolina flour which gives the pasta its distinctive texture, we only use organic eggs which will give a good yellow colour without having to use dyes.
We make four shapes: Spaghetti, Fusilli, Rigatoni and Tagliatelle.

The Menu

You choose the pasta shape you would like with any of the following sauces:

Tomato and Basil
Roast Pepper, Chilli and Oregano
Lemon, Basil and Parmesan
Fresh Herb sauce
Wild Mushroom cream
Beef Ragu

You can have a bowl of pasta at the market, cooked fresh for you.

The Sauces

Gusto Tomato

A rich blend of onions, garlic, red wine and tomatoes. This sauce is great as it is or you can add herbs, meat or vegetables. It is also useful for pizzas and for adding depth to other casseroles and sauces.

Roast pepper, chilli and oregano

This sauce is made " Agrodolce" which means its slightly sweet and sour, it's also spicy.

Fresh herb sauce

We use fresh parsley, basil and mint, walnuts and pinenuts and good extra virgin olive oil to make this fresh sauce which is equally good with simply grilled fish or chicken as it is with pasta.

Wild mushroom butter

This stuff is great, its a blend of wild mushrooms, herbs and butter, you can add cream and cheese to make a rich pasta sauce or you can use it to baste a chicken.

Other stuff

Grana Padana

We sell Grana Padana on the stall, i like to use this cheese as it is a better price than Parmesan and i can be more generous with it.

Lemons and Basil

We sell good organic lemons which are great for zesting and basil in a pot which you can keep on your windowsill.

Meatballs

Dale from Churchtown Organic Farm makes these for me and they are great.

Dried Pasta

We also stock some good dried pasta and Arborio rice, for your store cupboard
